On August 4, members of Unity HealthLink came together at Helping Hands Pantry to take part in their regular weekly warehouse sessions. These sessions are specifically designed to support the community and tackle the pressing issue of food insecurity. This initiative is integrally connected to healthcare because having access to nutritious food is a crucial aspect of maintaining overall health. When individuals lack reliable access to healthy food options, they face a significantly higher risk of developing chronic diseases.
During the session, our dedicated team collaborated closely with other enthusiastic volunteers to meticulously sort through numerous boxes filled with donated goods. We carefully separated various food items, ensuring they were appropriately categorized, and then efficiently packed and boxed them for distribution. These essential supplies were prepared to reach and support individuals and families in need throughout San Bernardino County.
We are deeply thankful to Helping Hands Pantry for giving us the chance to work together with such a committed and passionate group of individuals. The problem of food security is a significant concern, and the incredible efforts Helping Hands Pantry has put forth to support the community are truly commendable.
